“As a community, we should respond with the grace, sensitivity and civility afforded us through the manners we learned from our parents, and their parents before them.”

This is a very well put assessment of everything that has happened, and a very civil way of handling the manner. 

We are not just Asian, we are Asian American.  We were born and raised in this country, and I can almost guarantee we adhere to the ideals of this nation better than most Caucasian people do.
